Helping Hands: Greener communities where we work live and play
When it comes to lending our communities a Helping Hand we are always excited to reach the end of the year and revisit one of our favourite causes – Trees That Count.
Now in our 6th year of working with Trees That Count to grow future forests in New Zealand, we’re proud to have reached 586 new trees planted!
Over the next 50 years these newly planted native trees will remove about 133 tonnes of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere, helping to protect our environment and preserve our beautiful country for future generations.
This year we are delighted to have chosen planting locations that are local to our branches and the communities of our people in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.
Our team is passionate about enjoying the great outdoors and it’s rewarding to be able to support the greening of the areas that our staff live, work and play.
Since 1990, Trees That Count and its supporters have funded the planting of 2,545,161 native trees spread across 1,705 planting locations.
Every native tree planted contributes to improving water quality, preventing erosion, enhancing biodiversity and creating shared green spaces.
We recognise that the whole of this beautiful country is our collective community and we have a responsibility to preserve it, to protect it and to lend a helping hand wherever its needed.
