We are delighted to have had another opportunity to celebrate service milestones for two more legends of UPS Power Solutions.

Senior Engineer, Ross Sullivan and Operations Manager, Sam Rasmussen join a growing list of long-serving employees that bring a wealth of experience to our customers providing confidence that power problems will not disrupt their critical operations.

It’s been an exciting year with so many of our amazing team members reaching milestones that we’ve launched long-service pin badges so they can proudly showcase their commitment, expertise and contribution to UPS Power Solutions.

Ross Sullivan, Senior Engineer

Ross is the third member of our team to join the 10-year club in 2024.

Joining us at the Wellington branch in 2014, Ross brought with him a wealth of industrial electrical expertise. He began as a UPS Electrician and has worked his way through our engineering career-pathway to be promoted to lead engineer and then senior engineer.

When you get a good guy like Ross, you want to keep hold of them and providing a rewarding and stimulating career trajectory is critical to that.

It was for people like Ross that we designed our engineering pathway and his progress with the business has been a key ingredient in its evolution, he’s played an important part in making it such a valuable initiative for all staff who have joined us since.

Despite being a quiet achiever, Ross is commonly referred to by staff and customers as a legend and his calm and methodical approach to engineering is second to none. He adds to our company culture with his famously dry sense of humour and customers breathe easier when Ross is on site knowing their power is truly safe in his hands.

We are very lucky to have him and thrilled to be able to recognise him as the 7th member of our 10-year club.

Sam Rasmussen, Operations Manager

It was a real pleasure to celebrate 5-years of service with Sam recently, he is another UPS Power Solutions success story and hiring him was a no-brainer.

Sam is a smart, adaptable and an exceptionally well-organised member of our team, all critical elements that have supported his career evolution from operations co-ordinator, to team lead and more recently, his well-deserved promotion to operations manager.

Starting with us at our Wellington branch, he eagerly stepped-up to relocate to Christchurch and spearhead the establishment of our new branch ensuring we get the right people to the right place with the right products at the right time.

He executed this expertly, as we knew he would, and can be very proud of the way he has achieved this important step for the business.

During Sam’s time with UPSPS he and his team were pivotal to our covid response, adapting to supply shortages while continuing to deliver for customers.

Everything he has achieved has been done with his special calm and professional demeanour that is well respected by our staff, customer and suppliers alike.

We are all very fortunate that he chose and chooses to work with us to solve our customers power puzzles and we recognise how valuable he continues to be for everyone associated with UPS Power Solutions.

People first

Celebrating these milestones continues to be one of the most satisfying parts of life at UPSPS. It underlines how rewarding helping our people establish and reach their goals can be.

As we recognise every new long-service award, we are able to see each of their unique contributions to our career-pathway scheme and celebrate their positive impact on the careers of their colleagues.

It has been a privilege to watch Ross and Sam enhance their skills and talents and grow into new roles that they helped design to fit their strengths perfectly. They have truly played a part in making UPSPS a rewarding place to work for everyone.
