After providing the Hawkes Bay community with specialist eye care services for over seven years, Doctors Alex and Sophie Buller and their team at The Eye Surgery Hastings recognised the need to upgrade their facilities.
The Eye Surgery opened a brand-new eye clinic and operating theatre in the centre of Hastings earlier this year, delivering specialist medical and surgical services and able to keep up to date with current medical practice as well as harnessing medical developments in the future.
“Our patients put their trust in us, and in turn we need to have a facility that we are confident will provide top quality service in all circumstances. Eye surgery is very technology dependant, and we need to know that if we start an operation we can finish it, even in the event of a power disruption.” says Buller.
The new clinic required the support of a well-designed clean power solution. Buller reached out to UPS Power Solutions for their assistance and James Clark, Senior UPS Sales Engineer, delivered a design solution that was tailored to the clinic’s current and future requirements.
With an eye to the future Clark recommended the Eaton 93PS 20-40KVA UPS with quality CSB batteries. The unit could be installed on day one at 20KVA and then scale up to 40KVA within the same equipment frame and footprint when required. This turned out to be good advice as the potential for the new facility, once realised, required more clean power than initially expected. The ability to increase capacity within the existing infrastructure at a minimal cost offered significant advantages and savings.
The Eaton 93PS delivers top of the line efficiency with “pay as you grow” scalability. It is seismically certified, generator friendly and offers multi module topology for redundancy, all within the markets’ smallest footprint. Equipped with a back-feed contactor, the 93PS is fully compliant with NZ Electrical regulations.
UPS Power Solutions not only specified the solution but managed the installation process by identifying the optimal location for the installation, undertaking the commissioning and testing to ensure the solution operated as planned.
