UPS Power Solutions understands its critical role in keeping our customers’ businesses and operations up and running.
We are thrilled that New Zealand is operating at level two enabling more of our customers to return to work and commence the economic recovery phase.
We look forward to applying our experiences from supporting essential services customers through lockdown to ensure safe and effective support for all our customers.
The UPS engineering team is vital to our service provision. Our assessment is that our Engineers can work safely and maintain social distance as they undertake their work on customer premises.
We have developed a Safe Work Method Statement specific to Covid-19 which encompasses risk controls for hygiene, social distancing, cleaning, PPE use, travel, recording contacts and returning home guidelines. Our Engineers have been provided with PPE and have contact tracing capability built into their Health and Safety App.
Supporting Local
UPS Power Solutions is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company, committed to supporting New Zealand businesses. We look forward to contributing innovative power quality solutions to support critical infrastructure, technology, healthcare and business operations. By working hard to support our customers we ensure our own success
Supporting the communities in which we operate is core to our values. Our Helping Hand initiative has provided a diverse range of support, most recently with the Student Volunteer Army who, in response to Covid-19, mobilised to help the country’s most vulnerable get the essential grocery and pharmaceutical supplies they need.
Planned Onsite Maintenance Services
There is a risk associated with deferring the servicing of UPS and battery systems. How much the risk increases does depend on how long the maintenance is deferred and on the condition of your equipment.
If you don’t change the oil in your brand-new car at the right time, you can change it a month later, and it will make no difference. If you leave it longer, and drive thousands of kilometres or if your car is older it is likely that you are going to have a breakdown.
We will be contacting our services customers with works that have been deferred or that are now due in the coming days and weeks to schedule these important works.
Unplanned Onsite Services
We continue to retain our on-call services throughout this time. If you require on-site fault response, please call 0800 877 769 as you normally would, and an on-call engineer will respond.
Access to product and parts
We have been proactively securing our supply chain and are holding good stocks of UPS models up to 80KVA and CSB batteries in a range of power ratings.
Our operations team has arranged contactless pickup and delivery of product for both our courier and carrier deliveries. Like other businesses we are experiencing delays in the logistics network, our operations team are working hard to minimise these delays and will provide you with full tracking details when your product ships.
Our Business Continuity Plan
UPS Power Solutions has a three stage Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan in place and being followed. We are blessed with sufficient space to ensure social distancing for our team allowing more of us to work on-premise at level two.
Our team of experts is here to help you and address any questions or requirements you have. They are looking forward to hearing from you and assisting you with anything that you require.
We appreciate that this is an evolving situation and consequently, the above advice represents our current assessment. If the situation changes, we will review our response and communicate with you at that time.
Well done New Zealand!
